You know it's a big game when Fowler, Corso and Herbie show up.
For the first time since the 1995 Rose Bowl season, ESPN College GameDay will broadcast from Evanston on Saturday. No. 16 Northwestern takes on No. 4 Ohio State at Ryan Field in a battle of unbeatens later that night.
The producers of the show announced late Saturday night that Chris Fowler, Lee Corso, Kirk Herbstreit and the rest of the GameDay crew will broadcast live from NU's campus.
"Northwestern, here we come! First time since the blizzard of '95!" tweeted Fowler shortly before midnight.
GameDay was last in Evanston for Northwestern's late-season win over Iowa in 1995, when freezing temperatures forced them to broadcast from the lobby of Welsh-Ryan Arena. This time, the show hopes to set up its stage next to Lakeside Field on the shores of Lake Michigan, according to reports.
The GameDay crew also showed up for Northwestern's 2010 game against Illinois at Wrigley Field, but that show was broadcast from the corner of Clark and Addison in Chicago, not on campus.
Saturday night's game will air live on ABC (7 p.m. CT).
