Long breaking in a new defensive line this spring

This is Marty Long's second season coaching the defensive line at spring practice for Northwestern, but chances are, with all of the new faces, it feels like the first.

Not one of the four players that started for Northwestern against Missouri in the Alamo Bowl last December 30 are participating in spring drills.

Tackle John Gill and end Kevin Mims used up their eligibility and will be graduating in June. Senior end Corey Wootton tore his anterior cruciate ligament in the loss to Mizzou and is still recovering from surgery. Senior tackle Adam Hahn broke his foot last week in practice.
