Four contend for Grayson
Lexington (NC) running back Marquez Grayson does not have a clear-cut leader in his recruitment.
"As far as schools that stand out to me it's only a couple," Grayson said. "At this point it's North Carolina State, Wake Forest, Tennessee and Virginia Tech. They all run the ball, and that's something I like to do."
Grayson, who is rated as a three-star recruit, the nation's No. 29 running back and the No. 18 overall prospect in North Carolina by Rivals.com, said he will probably go to games at NC State, Tennessee and Va. Tech this fall. He hopes to make a return trip to Wake after last month's successful visit.
"I got to sit down with the running backs coach [Billy Mitchell] and see a few that they things they did and see some things on film," Grayson said.
Brian Knorr is Grayson's primary recruiter for the Demon Deacons.
"He's [Knorr] just a great guy," Grayson said. "He's always excited all the time, just an all-around great person."
The 6-foot-1 and 200-pound Grayson claims scholarship offers from Clemson, Duke, East Carolina, NC State, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Virginia Tech.
He plans to choose a school sometime in the middle of the season.
"First and foremost it would have to be academics. They have to offer what I'm majoring in. It would have to be a family atmosphere."
Grayson added he will probably major in Business Management with a minor in Sports Medicine, or major in Sports Medicine with a minor in Business.
