Record 36 Cats make Academic All-B1G

Northwestern may have come up short on the gridiron in 2013, finishing 5-7, but the Wildcats certainly got it done in the classroom this fall, setting a school record for Academic All-Big Ten honorees.

Northwestern announced on Wednesday that 36 football players earned Academic All-Big Ten distinction, besting the previous high of 34, set in 2012.

Northwestern once again led the entire Big Ten Conference in football awards, finishing just agead Minnesota, with 35.

The Wildcats have now produced more than 30 Academic All-Big Ten award winners for four straight seasons.

The Academic All-Big Ten award winners are:
