Northwestern signed 16 players during the early signing period last month. But the Wildcats are not quite done with their Class of 2018 and could add one or two more players.

One prospect who is still in the picture for one of those spots is offensive lineman Sam Stovall.

The two-star prospect from Chattanooga (Tenn.) Notre Dame was all set to sign with Western Kentucky on Dec. 19, the day before the early signing period opened. He had committed to WKU in April and stayed that way despite interest from Power Five programs.

Then Stovall got a phone call from Northwestern offensive line coach Adam Cushing that changed his plans. Cushing offered him a scholarship to what he called “the only school I would even consider decommitting from Western Kentucky for.”

Now, Stovall is set to take an official visit to NU next weekend and could become the last lineman in the Wildcats’ Class of 2018 if he signs on Feb. 7.
