Thomas Gordon wasted no time becoming a Wildcat.

The three-star 2019 superback from Houston (Texas) Strake Jesuit just received an offer from Northwestern assistant coach Lou Ayeni last Wednesday. On Thursday, he told WildcatReport that NU was in his Top 2 and that he planned to take an official visit to Northwestern in the spring.

But Gordon scuttled those plans on Sunday when he decided to commit and become the third member of the Wildcats' Class of 2019.

The 6-foot-5, 225-pounder announced his decision on Twitter.

Gordon, the No. 13 tight end prospect in the country, chose Northwestern over finalist Duke. He also had 11 other offers, including Baylor and Iowa State from the Power Five, Columbia and Yale from the Ivy League, and seven schools from the Group of Five conferences.

He joins quarterback Cale Millen and linebacker Bryce Gallagher in Northwestern’s 2019 class.

More to come from WildcatReport…
