Allen continues NUs roll

Northwestern continued its torrid recruiting on Tuesday with the commitment of defensive end Zach Allen.
Allen, a two-star prospect from New Canaan (Conn.), is the eighth commitment overall in the Class of 2015 and the eighth in the last seven days for the Wildcats. (One of those commitments has not yet been reported because it has yet to be confirmed.)

The 6-foot-5, 245-pounder chose Northwestern over more than a dozen other offers, including Boston College, Connecticut, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Syracuse and Virginia.
Allen visited Northwestern on the weekend of April 5 to watch the Wildcats practice at Lakeside Field. He had been considered by some to be a Boston College lean and just returned from a weekend visit to UConn before giving Northwestern head coach Pat Fitzgerald his verbal.
Allen joins Trent Goens, who committed just yesterday, as defensive ends in the class.
Northwestern has now landed seven commitments in the last four days, and six in the last three.
