Northwestern was one of three high-profile schools to offer Class of 2018 wing A.J. Reeves last week.

Rivals.com basketball recruiting analyst Eric Bossi reports in his Starting Five column that Northwestern coaches watched the 6-foot-5 shooting guard play last week and offered him a scholarship shortly afterward. Reeves also added scholarship offers from Syracuse and defending national champion Villanova in what was no doubt a pretty exciting week for the No. 52 player in the nation.

One of the more physical and athletic wing players in the class, Reeves held offers from Providence (where he visited Saturday), Virginia Tech, Creighton, Rutgers, VCU, Xavier, Connecticut, Boston College and several others heading into his junior season. But interest in him seemed to spike last week when he added those three offers from major conference schools.

Ranked as the No. 52 player in the nation, Reeves is averaging 26.2 points, 7.6 rebounds and 3 assists per game for Chestnut Hills (Mass.) Brimmer & May School this season, according to MassPreps.com.

Reeves is not in any rush to cut down his offer list at this point and figures to be one of the most heavily watched players this spring, says Bossi.
