You might think that a kid from South Carolina on his official visit to Northwestern might have lamented about the weather last Saturday for the Wildcats’ game against Minnesota. It was 40 degrees with a swirling wind, and rain, sleet and snow all fell during the game, most of it coming down sideways.

But linebacker commitment Khalid Jones isn’t your average kid from South Carolina.

Jones says that “rain doesn’t bug me” and that, despite the fact that he hails from Duncan, S.C., some 700-plus miles south of Evanston, “I like the cold weather better than the heat. It’s more my type of weather.”

So he says the harsh conditions were no big deal. “It’s just football weather to me,” he said.

Something tells us that Jones, a three-star prospect from Byrnes High School, is going to do just fine in Evanston.
