King's NU career is over

EVANSTON-Offensive lineman Blake King's Northwestern football career is over.

The redshirt sophomore has left the Northwestern team due to "a medical issue," an athletic department spokesperson said. King is still enrolled in school and currently working for the football office.

The 6-foot-3, 280-pound guard was a three-star prospect coming out of Shorewood (Ill.) Minooka in Northwestern's 2013 recruiting class. He redshirted the 2013 season and did not appear in any games for the Wildcats.

Northwestern will not disclose any further details out of respect for the privacy of King and his family, the spokesperson said.
