McDonald continues Northwestern's April roll

Northwestern continued its red-hot recruiting in April when three-star safety Jeremiah McDonald committed to the Wildcats on Monday night.

McDonald, from Slidell (La.) Northshore, is the fifth Northwestern commitment in the first 10 days of the month. The 6-foot-3, 180-pounder was one of two 2018 prospects with offers who took an overnight visit to Evanston over the weekend. His verbal means that the Wildcats went 2-for-2 as the other visitor, cornerback Ethan Bonner, committed on Saturday.

McDonald announced his commitment on Twitter.

McDonald chose Northwestern over at least seven other offers, including Mississippi, Vanderbilt and Virginia from the Power Five. He received his offer from Northwestern on Feb. 21.

McDonald is the second safety in the Wildcats’ class, joining Greg Newsome, who pulled the trigger on April 3.

Northwestern’s 13-member class is now ranked seventh in the country by Rivals.
