Texas has long been a strong recruiting ground for Northwestern. Right now, the Wildcats have a dozen Texans on the roster: six from the Houston area, five from Dallas and one from Austin.

The Wildcats are now looking to expand their reach in the Lone Star State by venturing into Waco to offer three-star quarterback Tanner Mordecai from Midway High School.
