NU lands big tackle

Offensive tackle Paul Jorgenson of DeWitt (Mich.) has committed to Northwestern.
The 6-foot-6, 274-pounder was one of the most sought-after players in Michigan. He chose Northwestern over more than a dozen other schools, including Michigan State, Illinois, Indiana, Duke and Stanford.

Jorgenson's commitment was first reported today on LSJ.com, the website of the Lansing State Journal.
A lifelong Michigan State fan, Jorgenson's second visit to Northwestern two weeks ago was what sealed the deal for the Wildcats, according to the LSJ.com story.
Jorgenson, who was a Michigan Division 3-4 all-state honorable mention in 2008, becomes the fifth member of the Wildcats' Class of 2010 and its first offensive lineman.
There is also a rumored sixth member of Northwestern's class who has yet to be confirmed.
