Many high school students go to Florida during winter break to spend time on the beach and party.

Northwestern 2018 defensive end signee Devin O’Rourke went down to Orlando to compete against some of the best football players in the nation at the Under Armour All-America game.

He returned to the Chicago area with a victory for his team (Team Highlight), some new skills and a lot of confidence in his abilities as a player.

“I feel like I held my own,” said O’Rourke, the crown jewel of Northwestern’s 2018 class. “I definitely gained confidence. I didn’t really know what to expect.”

The four-star, Rivals250 standout from Illinois state champion Frankfort Lincoln Way East talks about his experience in Orlando, the skills he learned and the real story behind the practice fight he was involved in that went viral on social media in this WildcatReport premium story.
