Oh, brother! Cats land third 2017 commitment

Northwestern landed its third Class of 2017 commitment on Sunday, and his name is a familiar one.

Three-star defensive tackle Sam Miller of Houston (Texas) Stratford, the little brother of 2016 commit Alex Miller, announced that he had become a Wildcat on Twitter:

The 6-foot-3, 260-pounder chose Northwestern over offers from Indiana, Texas Tech, Colorado State, North Texas and UCF. He is the 83rd-ranked player in talent-rich Texas.

Sam visited Evanston last weekend with his brother Alex, who was on his official visit with 17 other members of the 2016 class.

Sam will once again give the Wildcats two sets of brothers, joining Cameron and Kyle Queiro. Northwestern had two other sets of brothers in 2015, but Cameron Dickerson’s and Dan Vitale's graduation means that little brothers Garrett Dickerson and Tommy Vitale will be the only players with their respective last names on the roster next season.

Sam adds his name to the 2017 class, which also includes linebacker Blake Gallagher and offensive lineman Sam Gerak.
