Recruit Roundup: Holman comes up big in big game

Northwestern 2017 commitment Berkeley Holman came up with a big game on a big stage over the weekend.

The three-star wide receiver caught two long touchdown passes as Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco went halfway across the country to destroy Cincinnati (Ohio) St. Xavier 34-0 in a Skyline Chili Crosstown Showdown game that was nationally televised on ESPNU.

Holman caught a 69-yard touchdown pass from Re-al Mitchell in the first quarter to give Bosco its second score. He added a 53-yard scoring reception in the third to give the Braves a commanding 31-0 lead in the third quarter.

Bosco is ranked as the No. 19 team in the country by USA Today.

K Charlie Kuhbander was limited to two extra points as Springboro (Ohio) dropped a 28-14 decision to Mason.

WR Kyric McGowan ran for 90 yards and had a couple key catches as Dalton (Ga.) beat Calhoun 28-13 for its first win after seven straight losses in the series.
