Because Northwestern already has 14 commitments for its 2018 class, much of the focus of its one-day camps earlier this month was on the Class of 2019 and beyond.
One camper who walked away with an offer after his performance at a camp was 2019 quarterback Ty Evans.
Evans, a 6-foot-2, 185-pounder from Monument (Colo.) Palmer Ridge, earned his offer after the Chicago Showcase camp on June 9. He said it was a thrill to earn his fourth of five total offers he has collected thus far.
“It was definitely exciting getting an offer from a school like that and a coaching staff like that,” said Evans. “Everyone says Northwestern has a great coaching staff, and Coach (Pat) Fitzgerald and Coach (Mick) McCall are good people who know how to build a program.”
