Northwestern trying to pull 3-star DE Newsom out of Iowa
It’s not easy to recruit a kid out of Iowa.
Iowa and Iowa State have together landed 11 of the last 15 Top 5-rated players within their borders over the last three classes and already have verbal commitments from three of the five for 2019. There’s also not a single Iowan on Northwestern’s current football roster.
The Wildcats are now trying to reverse that trend. They offered Mosai Newsom of Waverly (Iowa) Waverly-Shell Rock on March 3 and hope to pull him out of the clutches of his home-state schools.
The three-star defensive end talks about his interest in Northwestern and his visit plans in this WildcatReport premium recruiting story.
