It's safe to say that kicker
Hunter Niswander turned in an impressive performance at Northwestern's Showcase on Thursday.
Northwestern coach
Pat Fitzgerald offered the 6-foot-5, 210-pounder on the spot after his kicking display, and the Peninsula (Ohio) Woodridge standout committed to Fitzgerald today to become the ninth member of Northwestern's Class of 2013.
Niswander, who can handle kicking, punting and kickoff duties, averaged 41.8 yards on 39 punts last season for Woodridge, including an 80-yarder. He dropped 23 boots inside the opponents' 20-yard line and 18 of his kicks were fair caught.
As a kicker, Niswander set a school-record with a 53-yard field goal and also drilled two 52-yarders. He was a perfect 36-for-36 on extra points.
Niswander's YouTube highlights (below) include a 55-yard field goal and a 72-yard kickoff.
