Eshoo jumps on board

Eric Eshoo grew up a Northwestern fan. Now, he's a Northwestern commitment.
The three-star superback from Wilmette (Ill.) Loyola Academy committed to the Wildcats on his visit today to become the 14th member of the Wildcats' Class of 2016.

"I'm so excited!" stated Eshoo by text message.
Eshoo, the No. 31 prospect in Illinois, picked up an offer from Northwestern on June 16, four days after impressing coaches at a Northwestern Showcase camp. He visited Evanston today and decided to pull the trigger while in Evanston.
He chose Northwestern over fellow finalist Illinois, the only other BCS program on his 11-school offer list.
Eshoo is the first superback in Northwestern's class. He played last season at 200 pounds but has since added 25 pounds to his 6-foot-5 frame. He runs a 4.6 40-yard dash.
Northwestern's class is currently ranked 26th in the country by Rivals.
