Just a couple weeks ago, there was concern among Northwestern fans because the Wildcats had yet to land a 2019 commitment. The whole summer went by without a single recruit.

Then three-star combo guard Daniel Buie committed on the first day of his official visit on Sept. 14. Three-star forward Jared Jones, who accompanied Buie on an official that same weekend, made his verbal pledge on Sunday. Then he was followed by four-star, Rivals150 forward Robbie Beran on Monday.

That’s three recruits in two weeks, with two of them coming on consecutive days. Not a bad fortnight for head coach Chris Collins & Co., who have now landed three of the four official visitors they hosted in September.

The Wildcats’ last two commits, twin towers Jones and Beran, are a combined 13 and one-half feet. Both stand 6-foot-9 and will give Northwestern a lot of length. But how do they differ and how might Collins employ them in his “positionless” system?

We talked to Corey Evans, who watched both of them play in person, for a scouting report.
