Rumors about Larkin's decision had swirled all week, but all were unconfirmed. The 5-foot-9, 180-pounder had chosen Cincinnati over Northwestern and other schools in June but changed his mind and reversed field today.

Northwestern had pursued Larkin for well over a year, becoming the first school to offer him a scholarship in October of 2014. He visited Evanston several times before pulling the trigger for Cincinnati.

Larkin, the No. 8 all-purpose back and No. 14 prospect in Ohio, is the second running back in Northwestern's class, joining Jesse Brown.

Larkin led LaSalle to its second straight Ohio state title this season. He is also a former teammate of Northwestern freshman defensive tackle Jordan Thompson.
