Jordan Lathon is having a stellar senior season as the point guard for Grandview (Mo.). He is averaging 12.3 points per game and leads his team in assists (6.8), rebounds (6.5), and steals (2.4).

Yet the four-star 2018 Northwestern signee and heir apparent to team leader Bryant McIntosh wasn’t even supposed to be playing for Grandview this season. He was supposed to be in Bradenton, Fla., playing for national power IMG Academy, until a family issue derailed those plans and forced him to move back home.

Yet Lathon now feels like he is right where he should be, on a team with the guys he grew up playing with. Grandview is 20-2 and riding a 19-game winning streak that has the Bulldogs ranked fourth in the state.

“I believe everything happened for a reason,” said Lathon, who is ranked as the No. 132 prospect in the nation for 2018. “Just like the way I ended up at Northwestern.”
