It seems like destiny that Brian Kaiser would become a Wildcat.

The superback signee's father, Steve Kaiser, played at Northwestern during the Dark Ages. Brian has been going to Wildcat games as long as he can remember and has known head coach Pat Fitzgerald since he was a kid. When he picked up his offer last December at a bowl practice, he cried.

Somewhat surprisingly, Kaiser waited a few months before committing in March. But make no mistake about it: this is a day he's dreamed about for a long time.

Get to know the player who says he goes by the nickname of "Bubba" - though we think that that moniker might be more appropriate for a short, overweight guy from Arkansas rather than a tall, lanky kid from Chicago's North Shore.

What does signing day mean to you? Signing day means that I'll actually be a Wildcat.

Name one thing about you that most people don't know: I perform and write music (he plays the bass, guitar and sings).
