Linebacker Khalid Jones was the only commitment who didn't take his official visit last weekend with the rest of the Class of 2018. He had a pretty good alibi, though.

Jones was busy on Saturday winning the defensive MVP award at the Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas, an all-star game featuring the best players in North and South Carolina. He racked up nine tackles, two sacks, two and a-half tackles for loss, a forced fumble and a pass break-up. Not bad for an afternoon's work. His performance certainly impressed Rivals' Woody Wommack, who thinks Northwestern got a steal in Jones.

Jones will be back on campus soon, however. He's one of five early enrollees who will start taking classes at Northwestern in January.

Find out more about Jones, a serious player with a goofy laugh.
