Most prospects get excited when they get a scholarship offer from Northwestern. But it’s doubtful that many had as emotional a reaction as Brian Kaiser did on Saturday.
When he received his scholarship offer from head coach Pat Fitzgerald, the 2018 prospect’s knees almost buckled and he was on the verge of crying.
The reason: it was the fulfillment of a promise he made as a little kid to his father, Steve, who played for Northwestern in the Dark Ages.
“I told him when I was five years old that I was going to be a Northwestern Wildcat and we were going to win the Rose Bowl,” said Kaiser.
