NU lands second Queiro

There will be two Queiros lining up on Northwestern's defense in the near future.
Class of 2014 outside linebacker Cameron Queiro committed to the Wildcats today, joining older brother Kyle Queiro, who will be an incoming freshman cornerback next season.

The 6-foot-2, 200-pounder from Oradell (N.J.) Bergen Catholic chose Northwestern over offers from Pittsburgh and Vanderbilt. The three-star prospect is ranked as the 19th-best recruit in the state of New Jersey by NJVarsity.com.
Queiro confirmed the commitment via a text message to WildcatReport.
Queiro had long been favoring Northwestern and said that his mother was really pushing him to join his older brother and play for coach Pat Fitzgerald.
"To my mom, there's no other school (than Northwestern)," Queiro said after visiting Northwestern with Kyle in January. "To her, I'm committed already."
Northwestern was Queiro's leader before that weekend, but that overnight visit may have cinched things for the Wildcats.
"It was amazing," he told WildcatReport afterward. "It was one of the best weekends I've ever had in my life.
"Northwestern is just full of great people and the coaches are easy to bond with. The facilities are getting better. Everything is getting better, and the team is rebuilding, too….Everything about it was great."
Northwestern hopes to further capitalize on some brotherly love at Bergen Catholic in this recruiting class: current Crusader defensive end Garrett Dickerson, a four-star prospect, is the younger brother of Northwestern redshirt sophomore wide receiver Cameron Dickerson.
Queiro is the third member of Northwestern's class, joining three-star safety Jordan Thomas and four-star quarterback Clayton Thorson.
