What a day Saturday was for Northwestern Football.

It was sunny with temperatures in the 60s for the Spring Showcase final practice at Ryan Field, the Wildcats looked sharp during the two-hour session, and, shortly afterward, the program added a 12th commitment for its 2018 class.

Cornerback Ethan Bonner of The Woodlands (Texas) committed to head coach Pat Fitzgerald while on his overnight visit in Evanston. He announced his decision on Twitter:

Bonner chose Northwestern over nine other offers, including Iowa State and Washington State from the Power Five and three from the Ivy League. The unranked 6-foot-1, 170-pounder reportedly runs a hand-timed 4.4-second 40-yard dash.

Bonner is the second cornerback of the class, joining Greg Newsome. The Wildcats have landed four commits in the last seven days, with three of the four coming from the state of Texas.

Northwestern’s class is currently ranked eighth in the country by Rivals.
