The 6-foot-4, 255-pounder chose Northwestern over Boston College. He also considered finalists Duke, Indiana, Purdue and Syracuse.
Thomas visited Northwestern in April for a spring practice and was enticed by the program's combination of high-level academics and high-level athletics.
"Northwestern made a great impression on me," told WildcatReport at the time. "They offer both the academics and the sports. They are so prestigious academically that football sometimes gets overlooked. But they are in the Big Ten, one of the top conferences in the country. They work as hard on the football side of things as they do on the academic side of things."
Thomas's commitment raised Northwestern's class ranking to 16th in the country and second in the Big Ten, according to Rivals. He is the third offensive lineman in Northwestern's class, joining Adam Lemke-Bell and Andrew Otterman, and the fourth commitment to pledge the program this week.
