It was a tale of two halves for Northwestern.
After almost getting run out of Conseco Fieldhouse in the first half against Minnesota, the team woke up in the second and went on a 19-5 run to take the lead with less than eight minutes to go. Minnesota bent but didn't break, however, and the Gophers closed out a 66-53 win to relegate Northwestern to a probable NIT bid. The Wildcats have some impressive wins, but a 17-13 record won't get past the NCAA selection committee.
