Northwestern hosted a pair of 2018 cornerbacks who were committed to other schools for official visits last weekend. The Wildcats landed one of them on Friday morning.

A.J. Hampton, a three-star prospect out of Tampa (Fla.) Wharton, announced on Twitter that he had decommitted from Toledo and committed to Northwestern to become the 18th member of the Wildcats' Class of 2018.

Hampton, a 5-foot-11, 162-pounder, originally committed to Toledo last July but didn't sign with the program in December, during the early signing period. Northwestern swooped in and offered Hampton in January and hastily arranged an official visit. Hampton told WildcatReport that he had "a great visit" and felt comfortable enough with Wildcat players and coaches to flip his commitment five days after returning from Evanston.

Northwestern has just one outstanding offer left for the 2018 class, three-star cornerback DJ Brown. The Washington (D.C.) St. John's College High standout took his official visit to NU with Hampton last week. Brown decommitted from Virginia earlier this week and declared that Cal, Northwestern and Notre Dame were his three favorites. He expects to announce his decision on National Signing Day on Wednesday.

Hampton is the second cornerback in Northwestern's class, joining Greg Newsome, who is already enrolled in classes and served as Hampton's host last weekend.
